Section 4: Working with Pages

Exercise 4-4: Including an FAQs page (optional)

Creating your FAQ Questions and Answers

The FAQs tool allows you to 'neatly' create a set of questions and answers for the most frequently asked questions. Most FAQ pages provide a list of 'questions' with the answers provided lower in the page. This makes it easier for your visitors to locate their questions quickly, then 'click' to scroll down to find the answer. Your theme includes an FAQ's page by default, you just need to create your questions. For existing 'themes' you'll want to create a new page for FAQ's or just add the FAQ module to an existing page. To start...we'll create our list of questions and answers for our FAQ module.

  • click on the 'Settings' menu
  • then click on the 'FAQs' menu

  • you'll start with a 'blank' box, just type in your 'question' then the answer below
  • click on 'Save Changes'
  • to add another FAQ question, click on the 'Add FAQ' button

Inserting the FAQ's Module into a web page
  • to insert the 'FAQ' module into an existing web page, click on the 'Pages' >> 'Edit' menu
  • find, then open the page for editing
  • and place your cursor into the 'content editing' window at the location where you would like your FAQ's to be displayed

  • then click on the 'FAQs' button to insert the FAQ module

  • the [faqs] placeholder tag will be inserted into the content window
  • click on the 'Preview Changes' button
  • preview the page, if all is well, click on the 'Publish' or 'Update' button
