Exercise 3-1: Creating a Backup

Backing up Wordpress
  • click on the 'Advanced' menu

  • the Admin page will 'revert' back to the default Wordpress display
  • click on the 'Tools' menu then >> Export

  • click on the 'Download Export File'

  • select 'Save As' and save to a folder on your computer

  • to restore the Theme Dashboard, just click on the Site Manager button
Restore a backup
  • click on the 'Tools' menu >> then 'Import' >> then click on the 'Wordpress' link at the bottom of the list

  • browse to your Exported ( .xml ) file
  • select, then click Upload file and import

This action MAY over write content in your site.
