Exercise 3-3: Uploading your own Custom Logo: (optional)

Custom Logo

you can upload your own graphic logo to use in place of, or in addition to, the "Website Name" text logo

Before you upload your logo, please jump down to the 'Working with the Media Library' tutorials to learn how to upload your new logo image, and resize it if required.

When using a graphic for your logo, it's best to use a ( Transparent PNG ) format. There are different transparent PNG image quality settings such as 8, 24 or 32 bit. The higher the better. Transparent PNG's allow the the graphic to float nicely over the background of the page, instead of showing a blocky white background, the image will look more like it was designed for the web page, compared to being 'added' to the web page.

If you do plan on using a transparent PNG graphic for your logo, you'll need to have the logo provided in that format ( if you're logo was created by a design company, they should have provided the logo in a vector format, bitmap format, as well as a transparent type of format for use on the web ) .. or use a graphic editor to create the logo with, and export the image in a transparent PNG format ( 24 or 32 bit work the best ).

  • review the 'Working with the Media Library' tutorials first and upload your logo image to the Media Library
  • now, click on the 'Custom Logo' menu
  • then click on the 'Use a custom logo graphic' checkbox

  • upload your 'Logo graphic' if you have not yet done so...note above on working with the Media Library

  • click on the 'Custom Logo:' - SELECT - menu and scroll through the list and select your 'logo image'

  • your logo image will be displayed in the 'Image Preview' window

  • You can now position the image for each of your 'template pages'
  • You'll need to preview each of your template page types, and set the positioning until the graphic logo lines up where you want it to be for each page type

  • the final step is to 'Enable' the ( Display the text logo and my custom logo ) option ONLY if you wish to use both graphic and text logo
  • then click on 'Save Changes'
