Video descriptions: in the third exercise we're
going to tackle the first 'update' to your website .. the 'LM

Bonus "DEMO" videos: work along with our lead designer Colin as he builds a working website, troubleshoots common issues and addresses some of the 'what happens if' questions that are bound to pop up as you build your website.
Colins Notes: as you new video coach, there are some aspects of building a webiste ( template or not ) that I would like everyone to be aware of, starting with my first video..
-
demo-video1: as this may be the first video you watch
or at least the first Library/include page you'll be working with,
I would like to provide a quick reminder on the importance of -
- if this is your first site, make sure you're working from a 'sandbox' test site.
- correctly defining your website in Dreamweaver / testing a Library update..
- site settings in your Microsoft Web Editor / testing a Library update..
- Colin's web editor of choice
-
demo-video2: before you start to build
your website, I want to address one of the biggest stumbling blocks for new
and even some experienced web masters... monitor resolution.. so let's take
a look at...
- previewing web pages while you work ( on large and
small monitors resolutions )
- previewing web pages while you work ( on large and
small monitors resolutions )
-
demo-video3: working with the new LM Logo
Component ... this is by far the coolest 'logo' tool we've ever used, and I
want to demonstrate how to do some of the following...
- change the 'website name' text
- change the hyperlink, remove the hyperlink
- resize and repostition the LM Logo Component
- broke it, no problem, let's start from 'scratch'
- Microsoft web editors and <p> tags, it is possible to make a mess of things yet so easy to fix
- what happens if you need to use ALOT of letters or characters in your 'Logo'
- can the logo be 'double spaced?
-
demo-video4: working with your own graphic
logo. If you're a web developer you'll definately find this section to be of
some help...using your own graphic logo in place of the LM Logo Component. I
want to show you how to...
- choose the right type of graphic to work with
- replace the LM Logo Component with your own graphic
- reposition the graphic and test in multiple monitor resolutions
- resize a graphic
- and finally create your own graphic logo with a little help from ( Adobe Fireworks CS4 )
